In the middle of 1960s due to industrialization and growth of auto industry in USSR first garages started to appear. For North region of country this innovation was extremely important as keeping your vehicle safe at a low temperature and under the permafrost was and remains quite difficult. 

Dynamic development of North ın 1970s was accompanied by increasing number of localities. Garages were an integral part of urban planning. Lack of entertainment in very young northern towns and villages prompted local people to look for another ways of recreation. At first only small part of garage area was separated for leisure. But today garage’s storage function is either put on the back or totally replaced by non-typical ways of using garage’s territory
